Call of Duty: Black Ops review

Hey Everyone,

I guess Call of Duty is the natural place for a games review person to start, right? Even though Modern Warfare 3 is just around the corner, I'm going to do this mega late review.

So lets start with the single player campaign. I personally thought the Black Ops campaign was one of the best of the Call of Duty campaigns so far. The reason is it is different to what has already been done. It's a different perspective on a the campaigns of the series so far. Also the story line is really good. It's more than just your out and out "Lets shoot the shit out of everything". You do get to shoot the shit out of plenty of enemies, but there's a lot of background to the story and interesting twists. It becomes more like a psychological thriller game.

The zombie aspect of the game is pretty fun and you can easily spend hours playing it trying to get past your previous highest level. The same goes for the arcade zombie game, which is just plain funny!!!

So... Multiplayer, that's what CoD is all about, right? I personally am not entirely sold on Black Ops' multiplayer. The introduction of features like CoD Points and combat training is good and again puts an awesome new aspect into the series, but that hasn't made me enjoy multiplayer anymore than on Modern Warfare 2. One problem i think is that the maps are too small, and not entirely sniper friendly. I am more of a sniper on CoD games ( Don't worry i'm not a rush around, spray fire, quick scoping sniper that pisses everyone off... I do it properly.) But in this game I don't see any point in trying to snipe.

All in all it has many good points in regards the single player, but for me, the multiplayer lets it down.
I think it's worth 6/10... Not bad, but there are better games in this genre.

Please comment and let me know your opinions.

Thanks for reading,

Pointman.
