Medal of Honor review

Hello everybody,

Lets look at Medal of Honor!!
Medal of Honor is in my opinion a brilliant game. As you all know it is designed to incorporate aspects of the Call of Duty series and the Battlefield series. It does the well, there's no kind of bias towards one game or the other (despite the multiplayer being developed by Frostbite- the people who developed Battlefield's multiplayer). So this game is literally the middle ground between CoD and Battlefield. Hoowever it didn't seem to recieve the attention that it perhaps should of. This is probably because of it's release date being so close to Black Ops. This (In my opinion) poor marketing strategy. It's a shame really, because the developers put loads of research into the game even down to how the guns should sound.

Anyways, onto the game play. The campaign mode is set in Afganistan. You play as multiple characters, but the main character is a US Navy SEAL. The plot is really well thought out and is one of the best story lines i have played. You get to expirience different types of combat, from stealth to guerrilla style fighting to all out battles to vehicle combat. That's what made the campaign replayable for me. I prefer to fight in different styles throughout a game (particularly stealth), so it made it extremely fun.

Another cool feature with this game is the Tier 1 mode, where you have to play against the clock to beat set times. This changed the way i played completely and makes it feel like a whole different campaign.

Onto the multiplayer. I think the multiplayer is fantasticly awesome! It's back to the basics, but that makes it better, rather than boring. It reminds me of the simple days of CoD 4. you don't have to much to think about in terms of class, i.e. weapons, perks, killstreaks, ect. The only think you have to think about is how you play. It's more based on player skill, than the over powered perks and weapons you use. Everyone gets the same killstreaks and the weapons are balanced. The game modes include standard TDMs and objective based game modes. The maps are amazing! They're very well constructed and give players many options. They are really sniper friendly too, but not sniper dependant or too small. It feels quite like CoD with hints of Battlefield, but in terms of how you play, it's very similar to Battlefield... You have to use tactics rather than just run around. But it's also just out and out fun! Right now it is my favourite multiplayer.

Overall i give Medal of Honor 9/10. It deserves it and every FPS player should own it.

But i want to know what other people think, it's like a third player in a CoD- Battlefield fight, so go ahead and comment and tell me your opinions.

Thanks!

Pointman.
